Thank You, Dr. Ron Paul For Your Endorsement by Presidential Candidate Chuck Baldwin

Wow! This is great news! I almost feared that there might be division
between Ron Paul supporters and Chuck Baldwin’s supporters. Now that he
has endorsed Chuck that may give him the boost he needs. His message
couldn’t have come at a better time. If people are truly fed up with all
this financial tyranny then they will vote for Chuck. If not, then they
are not sincere and will deserve every bit of hardship they get. If the
majority despise the truth then no mercy will be shown to them. Here now
everyone, especially christians can promote a candidate that is not the
lesser of evils and not partake in the deeds of darkness. So by how the
votes come out we will know if this nation is done for or not. But
besides christians there are still many heathen that pride themselves as
nonconformists. We will see if they are for real or not too. Everyone
benefits from Chucks presidency, whether they are religious or not. I
love the way he came out and denounced religious tyranny in this
message, proving that he is for real and not one of these satanic
dominionists. We have to really pray that Chuck succeeds. I know there
are a lot of bushbots, like those of my family that will never vote for
any but a republican. They are the ultimate hypocrites. They are like
those who they condemn. They say that those like their own parents that
were traditional democrats were bound in traditionalism. Look who is
talking. I have heard these hypocrites says that they would vote for the
right man no matter what party they belong to. I know that to be a total
and complete lie. But still I hope many are not as far gone as they.
They are a lost cause. Sorry to load you down with all these messages. I
know with all that is going on you probably have to keep up with an
awful lot corcerning this financial meltdown. I urge you to put Chuck’s
message here on your blog to help get out the true alternative vote in
this election. This is our only chance to really change things for the
better. If we get the usual scum we may not have a country or even
elections anymore.

Yesterday, September 22, Congressman Ron Paul publicly gave me his
endorsement for the office of President of the United States. In his blog at
the Campaign for Liberty web site, he said, “I’m supporting Chuck Baldwin,
the Constitution Party candidate.” (See the complete statement at:
http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog/?p=582 )

Obviously, I could not be more delighted and honored to have Dr. Paul’s
endorsement. I called him last evening and thanked him personally. And now I
want to thank him publicly.

I am fully aware that Dr. Paul was under considerable pressure from various
groups that were actively soliciting his support. I can honestly say that I
never lobbied Dr. Paul for his endorsement. He knew I would be thrilled to
have it, but I have too much respect for Ron Paul to be so presumptuous as
to expect him to endorse me. I completely understood his neutrality. He has
strong ties to both the Libertarian and Constitution parties–not to mention
the obvious fact that he is a ten-term Republican Congressman with much
support from the Republican Party in his home district.

I was happy to support Ron Paul during the Republican primaries, because I
believe in the same principles. I personally campaigned for him in several
states and in this column. And I asked (or expected) nothing in return. In
fact, I have stated this publicly, time and again: if Ron Paul had won the
Republican nomination for President, I would not be running. I would still
be supporting Ron Paul.

I am running for President because the Republican Party rejected Ron’s
Paul’s message of constitutional government, fiscal responsibility, and
non-interventionism. Therefore, someone had to pick up the mantle and carry
this message into the general election. The Constitution Party asked me to
be their standard-bearer in order to bring this message to the American
people in November. So, here I am. And now, Ron Paul’s endorsement is
further substantiation that the message of constitutional government will
not die in 2008. The American people still have a real choice instead of the
big-government, globalist, interventionist, “big box” party candidates, John
McCain and Barack Obama.

Ron Paul’s message is my message; Ron Paul’s fight is my fight.

I want to return America to constitutional government. “The powers not
delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to
the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
(Amendment X) I believe that, and will govern the Executive branch of the
federal government accordingly.

My sworn oath to the Tenth Amendment means I would dismantle the Patriot Act
and restore law enforcement to the states and local governments, where it
rightly belongs. Yes, this includes the so-called “war on drugs” and the
so-called “war on terror.” No more warrantless searches and seizures. No
more eavesdropping on Americans’ phone calls, or collecting Americans’
emails, or spying on American citizens without court order and oversight. No
more stripping Americans of their constitutional rights in the name of
“national security.” In addition, I would use every power and authority
vested to my office to preserve and protect the right of the people to keep
and bear arms. And, yes, I will immediately restore Posse Comitatus. As
President, I want to protect America from Washington, D.C., as much I want
to protect it from foreign powers.

I will also take the words of the Declaration of Independence seriously,
where it states, “That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be
Free and Independent States.” This means the day I am sworn in as President
of the United States, the New World Order comes crashing down! The NAFTA
superhighway is dead. The North American Union is dead. I will work to
eliminate NAFTA, CAFTA, GATT, and the WTO. The FTAA is DOA. I will not
expend tax dollars for the support of the United Nations.

Furthermore, I will take my oath to the Constitution seriously, when it
states that one of the express purposes of the federal government is to
“repel Invasions.” This means we will secure America’s borders, because the
illegal immigration crisis is more than mere immigration: it is an invasion,
and I will stop it! Even if I have to send the U.S. Army to the borders, we
will put a stop to this invasion of illegal aliens. I will also aggressively
prosecute those employers who knowingly hire illegals. And did I mention
that my first day in office is Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean’s last
day in prison? I will personally open the prison doors and restore to these
men their freedom. I will also give them their jobs back (with pay), if they
want them. And one more item on this point: my first day of office is also
U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton’s last day on the job.

I also share Ron Paul’s concerns for the way the two major parties have
allowed the United States to become a meddlesome, interventionist,
nation-building empire for the sake of satisfying the greedy machinations of
international bankers and power-hungry politicians. I will not only bring
our troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan, but also from most of the other
130 nations that currently house U.S. forces. I will end foreign aid. I will
get the U.S. out of NATO. It is past time for the European states to defend
themselves. It is time for us to stop sticking our nose in every other
nation’s business and start taking care of the United States. The Warfare
State will kill us. Global empires are not sustainable. I repeat: global
empires are not sustainable. If history teaches anything, it teaches that.

Furthermore, the Bush doctrine of pre-emptive war is over, when I become
President. Because I will take my oath to the Constitution seriously, I
would never send troops to invade and occupy a foreign country without a
Declaration of War by Congress. In dealing with rogue terrorist
organizations such as al Qaeda, I will seek letters of Marque and Reprisal
from Congress, which would give me the authority to use whatever special
and/or private forces are necessary to seek out and destroy those who desire
our hurt.

And even though I am a born again Christian (as is Ron Paul), I would take
my responsibility to protect the religious liberty of every American
seriously. People have the right to worship God (or not worship God)
according to the dictates of their own conscience. Whether one is Baptist,
Catholic, Mormon, or agnostic, people have the right to practice their faith
as they see fit. I am absolutely dedicated to preserving religious liberty.
Religious tyranny is as evil as political or social tyranny. And, as I will
be no man’s slave, neither will I be any man’s master.

I also share Ron Paul’s commitment to the sanctity of life. When I become
President, I will use the bully pulpit of the White House to press Congress
to pass Dr. Paul’s Sanctity of Life Act, which would overturn Roe v. Wade
and end abortion-on-demand. On this topic, the GOP is especially
hypocritical. The Republican Party controlled the entire federal government
for six years and did nothing to save the life of a single unborn child.
Saving unborn babies from the abortionists’ scalpel is more than rhetoric
with me, however.

Another area of agreement with Ron Paul is my philosophy of economics. Dr.
Paul has been predicting the current financial meltdown in this country for
years. And when all is done, the current bailout being proposed will do more
harm than good. The problem is, America’s leaders have rejected sound money
policies for years, and the chickens are coming home to roost.

As President, I would seek to overturn the 16th Amendment, eliminate the
Internal Revenue Service, and disband the Federal Reserve. I would lead the
charge to return America to sound money principles. I would seek to reduce
federal spending to constitutional levels by eliminating those same federal
departments that Newt Gingrich promised to eliminate in his Contract with
America back in 1994 (and then failed to do). I would seek to eliminate the
Departments of Education, Commerce, Energy, etc. I would demand that
Congress pass a balanced budget and that we stop deficit spending.

Neither John McCain nor Barack Obama will do any of the above. If he were
President, Dr. Paul would do it, however, and so would I.

Needless to say, I am both humbled and honored that Ron Paul would place
enough faith in me that he would endorse me for President. I can think of no
higher compliment to my candidacy. I here and now publicly thank him for
this vote of confidence. I know my Vice Presidential running mate, Darrell
Castle (a former Marine Corps officer and Vietnam veteran), joins me in
inviting all of Dr. Paul’s supporters to help us take the message of
constitutional government into the general election on November 4. Thank
you.

With Their Support Of Susan Palin, The Religious Right Proves That Character Never Mattered … It Was Always All About Power!

Posted by soldierservant on September 4, 2008

I remember back during the Bill Clinton administration how all the
republicans were saying how much character matters. This was over
Clinton being an adulterer. Well, now these republican hypocrites that
say character matters doesn’t seem to matter to them anymore. John
McCain divorced his first wife, who was faithful to him, so in order
that he could marry the rich beer heiress. Jesus said that if you
divorce, with the exception of infidelity, that you are an adulterer. So
McCain is as much as an adulterer as Clinton. Where are all the
hypocrites that tell us that character matters? These lying neocons are
not for real but use everything for their own political expediency. So
lets get this straight. The majority of the church wants to vote in a
heathen that is pro-abortion (murder), an adulterer, a globalist
(antichrist), rather than supporting true righteous candidates like Ron
Paul or Chuck Baldwin. What is wrong with that picture? Those who can’t
figure that out prove that they do not know God or his word and are
headed for eternal damnation. You cannot support the false and the
godless and get away with it. Light has no fellowship with darkness.
Those who bow to the dark are dark themselves. Satan is their father.
Jesus said that the world would know those who are his true disciples by
their love for one another. He also said that the world accept their
own. Yes, that is right! Every one of the religious hypocrites that
support the godless heathens of the republican or democrat party while
opposing the christian candidates like Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution
Party, are imposters and headed for damnation. Woe to those who call
evil good and good evil! Anyone who knows the gospel knows that the true
christian walk is not one of popularity. The modern church defies
scripture at every point. For those who haven’t known the gospel, there
is hope for you. Do not get deceived by all the televangelists,
religious right, and most of the churches that are imposters that are on
the broad path to destruction. I would say to find a good church but
that is nearly impossible these days. None seem to care for the truth
that is found in the bible. All the churches seem to be lawbreakers at
some point or other. Most all seem to violate the true sabbath
(Saturday) by observing a false sabbath (Sunday). Most all of society
bows to this false system, like businesses closed on Sunday, instead of
Saturday. Well the Ten Commandments say that to keep the sabbath holy
means to not work, but rest on that day, the last day of the week in
which God rested from His work of creation. This is all supported in
Hebrews, the fourth chapter, which is the new testament after Jesus’
resurrection, which no one can use the excuse that the original sabbath
changed with the covenants. Nowhere in God’s word does it say that the
sabbath changed to Sunday, or the first day of the week. Ask yourself
which of any of the ten commandments has changed under the new covenant?
None have changed. If all the others haven’t changed under the new
covenant then why would the fourth commandment change? The church will
have no excuse for all their defiance against the scriptures. All I can
say is to get in God’s word for yourself and let no one twist its
interpretation for you. God has opened my eyes to so many things just
because I got into His word and let no one pollute the truth that is in
it. All the church these days teach greed and war to which the bible
teaches against. Those who are deluded in this deception think that
somehow they are sanctified by anything they believe just because they
add Jesus’ name to it, but the bible confirms that it is the other way
around. Those who misuse the gospel or Jesus’ name will be under extreme
condemnation for the blasphemy of doing evil all the while claiming to
be His (Matt.7:21-23). This proves how wrong the false positivity gospel
is that think they can sanctify anything through positive thinking.
There is no biblical basis for such fooish thinking. The bible says that
a little bit of leaven corrupts the whole batch. There is no mention of
sanctifying the leaven, but wouldn’t be surprised if that is what they
are teaching in church these days. 1Cor.15:33 says that bad company
corrupts good character. 1Cor.15:34, “Come back to your senses as you
ought, and stop sinning; for there are some ignorant of God-I say this
to your shame.” I had been born and raised in church and when I came of
age I knew in my spirit that something was terribly wrong with church. I
had visited church after church and never found any that are true, and
this is coming from the buckle of the bible belt. How pathetic is that?
They should call it the unbiblical belt. I had a good friend that got
polluted by all their lies. The church will answer for all the lies it
spews and souls it leads astray. The disobedient children are appointed
unto wrath. But you see, the bible makes it clear that this is exactly
what would happen. We are living in the age of apostasy as mentioned by
Jesus in Matthew 24. 1Peter 4:18 says how hard it is for the righteous
to be saved. Liars in the church would not have you know such
scriptures. Like Ezekiel 34, which tells of wicked shepherds (pastors,
teachers, and religious leaders). They especially don’t want you to know
that since it is self incriminating evidence against these cowardly
wolves in disguise. Jesus said that his people perish for the lack of
knowledge. Anytime the bible talks of perish, it means eternal. The
temporal, which is our bodies, refers to as sleep. The only way to get
knowledge in order to avoid the eternal perish is by studying His word.
Those who want the truth must turn to the bible because there is no
other source. Like his own word says “Let God be true and every man a
liar.” If you can find a biblical church then that is good. You can tell
by if they observe the true sabbath over the false one and not sold out
to political hypocrisy. But do not be led by false guilt of just
attending a church for the sake of conscience or legalism if they are
not true because then you are partaking in the table of demons and
participating in the deeds of darkness. Ancient Israel not only fell
because of innocent bloodshed but also injustice to the poor. Those who
support the neocon/liberal machine are not only supporting murder
through abortion but also supporting rich oppressors. Neither party will
end the outsourcing. Oh sure, they all pretend to be compassionate with
all the relief from these major storms, for appearances only, to be seen
of men, just like the Pharisees of Jesus’ time. If they are really this
compassionate then why are they doing all the outsourcing, which cost
many their jobs and homes, as well as allowing the high gas prices and
bad economy? McCain voted against drilling but now all of a sudden he is
for it. He is pretending to distance himself from Bush but has said that
Bush was 90% right. Both McCain and Palin have done a lot of
flip-flopping lately. Palin, back in February of this year praised Ron
Paul for his independence and said she was the same way. Well not
anymore because she has sold out to the neocons. I like to hear her
thoughts on Ron Paul now. She would have to denounce him just to stay in
the republican party. How can anyone trust those who constantly change
their positions? Chuck Baldwin hasn’t changed any position. If we want
steady country we need steady leadership. Isn’t it so hypocritical that
the neocons judge everything of the liberals, even their children, such
as Clinton’s Chelsea, but yet not judging Palin’s daughter. Jesus said
what happens to hypocritical judgers. Those who support rich oppressors
are the goats mentioned by Jesus in Matthew 25, who care not for the
“least of these.”

McCain and Susan Palin: How Can They Walk Together Unless They Be Agreed? By Pastor Chuck Baldwin

This is interesting. I didn’t know any republican that opposed the war
except for Ron Paul. But Chuck is absolutely right. This was just what I
was saying recently about the scripture that says bad company corrupts
good character (1Cor.15:33). As far as Palin being able to run on the
ticket in the future as a true independent conservative, not happening.
Chuck should realize that because we all know that the corrupt power
structure of both parties will not allow that. Look how they got away
with demonizing Ron Paul and all the idiots ate it up as though it was
gospel. The fools fall for every trick in the book. Even Chuck proves
their predictability. Look at how the neocons schmucks used Joe
Lieberman for the first day of their convention. They have to use a
democrat, and the very same one at that that would have destroyed
McCain’s chances. How dumb can you get? But apparently it works for all
the kool-aid drinkers out there.

This column  is archived at:

John McCain’s selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his Vice
Presidential running mate was exactly what he needed to do to make himself
competitive against Barack Obama in the November elections. (For the record,
I predicted three weeks ago that Palin would be his choice.) As a result
(and right on cue), conservatives throughout the country–especially
Christian conservatives–are now fully supporting McCain’s candidacy for
President. Even James “I-will-never-vote-for-John-McCain” Dobson has
endorsed McCain.

By all appearances, Governor Palin is a true conservative. She is pro-life.
She is pro-Second Amendment. Alaska is one of only two states (Vermont is
the other) that recognize the right of their citizens to carry handguns
without a Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit. She was rightly critical of
the invasion of Iraq, once calling it a “war for oil.” Speaking of oil, she
believes we should drill for oil in Alaska and throughout the U.S., and is
critical of the federal government for allowing America to become dependent
upon foreign oil for our energy needs. She even heaped praises upon the
Republican that Republicans love to hate: Ron Paul. Beyond that, Lynette
Clark, the chairman of the Alaskan Independence Party (the party under which
yours truly is on the Presidential ballot this year) reports that Sarah
Palin was a member of the party back in the early 90s. This is very
encouraging in that the AIP is a patriotic, states’ rights party that holds
strong sentiments opposing the New World Order propensities of the two major
parties. In essence, Sarah Palin is everything that John McCain isn’t. Which
leads to the question that was asked long ago by the Hebrew prophet: “Can
two walk together, except they be agreed?”

When the no-compromise constitutionalist, Ron Paul, was asked by CNN’s Wolf
Blitzer if he would consider being John McCain’s running mate, he said no.
His reason for that was that should McCain do something fundamentally
counter to his constitutional convictions–such as bombing Iran without a
Declaration of War (or other possible unconstitutional actions that Paul
knows McCain is predisposed to)–he would have to resign. Knowing this, he
(Paul) could not in good conscience accept a McCain invitation to join his
ticket (not that McCain would ever ask him to be his running mate; Ron was
not even invited to participate in the Republican convention, for Pete’s
sake).

Herein lies the problem for Sarah Palin. How can a principled conservative
support the policies and actions of an unprincipled globalist such as John
McCain? As Vice President, Palin will be required to promote and defend
McCain’s big-government, liberal, and globalist plans. For example, what
will she do when John McCain proposes amnesty for millions of illegal
aliens, which he is certain to do? What will she do when McCain proposes to
close gun shows, or at least the private sale of firearms at gun shows? What
will she do when he proposes to increase federal spending for abortion
providers (which he has done numerous times as senator)? What will she do
when he promotes federal spending for embryonic stem cell research? What
will she do when John McCain proliferates Bush’s police state machinations
by expanding the Patriot Act and similar legislation? What will Palin do
when McCain decides to nuke Iran (and who knows what else), not only without
a Declaration of War by Congress, but also without provocation or
justification? What will she do as John McCain expands the Security and
Prosperity Partnership with Canada and Mexico? What will she do as McCain
opens the door of the NAFTA superhighway and the North American Union? What
will she do as John McCain allows the United Nations to dictate and
manipulate America’s foreign policy? Again, can two walk together except
they be agreed?

Let’s face it: John McCain is using Sarah Palin as inducement to trick
conservatives into accepting his liberal, big-government, globalist
candidacy. And, sadly, it is working.

As I have said before, today’s national Christian leaders are among the most
gullible people on the planet. They are so desperate to be invited to sit at
the king’s table that they will compromise practically any principle. But
accepting John McCain was a not only a bitter pill, it was a BIG pill, one
they could not get down without a major dose of syrup. And that is exactly
what Governor Palin brings to the table: sweet syrup to help conservatives
swallow John McCain.

Unfortunately, the things that make Palin so attractive (her conservative
principles) are the things that she will be forced to surrender in order to
be John McCain’s running mate. The best thing that can happen to Sarah Palin
is for John McCain to lose the November election. This would allow her to go
into the 2012 elections as perhaps the Republican Presidential frontrunner.
If McCain wins in November, and Palin is forced to serve at the pleasure of
this globalist insider for four years, she will be forever ruined as a
genuine constitutional conservative. Remember, “No man can serve two
masters.” One cannot be faithful to the Constitution and a constitutional
apostate such as John McCain at the same time. That is an absolute
impossibility.

What our conservative friends need to wake up to is the depth of duplicity
and wickedness that permeates Washington politics (in both major parties)
today. There is nothing that these globalist insiders at the Council on
Foreign Relations (of which John McCain is a longtime member) will not do to
fulfill their power-mad plans. There is nothing too evil, too sinister, or
too iniquitous, including using, abusing, chewing up and then spitting out
good people such as Sarah Palin. Even more unfortunate and sad is the fact
that the James Dobsons of this world are too blind to see it.

The Ron Paul Freedom March by Chuck Baldwin

I was privileged to be invited to speak at Congressman Ron Paul’s Freedom
March this past Saturday on the Mall in front of the U.S. Capitol in
Washington, D.C. In fact, I spoke immediately preceding Dr. Paul and helped
introduce the ten-term congressman.

I gauged the crowd to number in excess of five thousand people. All the
participants I observed were very respectful, well mannered, and polite. The
crowd was about as diverse an audience as I have ever spoken to. They came
from all walks of life and from all points across the country. I was able to
spend an hour or more mingling with the crowd and was delighted to meet many
scores of people who already knew of me. A large number indicated that they
were readers of this column.

Participants in the Freedom March all seemed to have this in common: a love
and desire for liberty, and a deep respect and admiration for Congressman
Ron Paul. I count it an honor to have been asked to speak to such a
wonderful group. Dr. Paul said some extremely kind words about me in his
remarks, as did the man who introduced me, Ernest Hancock, the great patriot
from Phoenix, Arizona.

I was also honored to meet several great Americans whom I have come to love
and respect over the years: people such as retired police officer, Jack
McLamb. It was also good to share the podium with my good friend, Howard
Phillips, who was extremely complimentary of me during his address, as was
Officer McLamb.

Marchers had spent six hours in the blazing, 90-degree sun before my turn to
speak arrived. And both Congressman Paul and myself had to catch flights out
of DC soon after our speeches, so I cut my remarks short so as to give Dr.
Paul maximum opportunity to deliver his remarks. Therefore, my speech lasted
only about 5 minutes.

Below is a link to my speech at Ron Paul’s Freedom March (albeit the opening
remarks of the address were inadvertently omitted. Perhaps another video
will surface soon. When it does, we will post it to my web site at
http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com ).

See my speech at the Ron Paul Freedom March in Washington, D.C. at
http://www.independentpoliticalreport.com:80/2008/07/video-of-chuck-baldwins-remarks-at-revolution-march/

This one thing I surely believe: our liberties and freedoms, yea, the
Constitution itself, are hanging by the thinnest of threads. Both major
parties have sliced and diced constitutional government to the point that
there isn’t much left. And the two presumptive candidates for President from
the two major parties will only continue to eviscerate what few freedoms and
liberties are left.

Both Barack Obama and John McCain will do nothing to secure our borders and
ports. Neither will do anything to quench the thirst of our federal
government for intrusions abroad and meddling within. Neither will do
anything to stop the machinations and lust of the power-elite for globalism
and corporatism. They will do nothing to stop the NAFTA superhighway or the
burgeoning North American Union. They will do nothing to rid our country of
its dependence on foreign oil, and neither will they do anything to stop the
infatuation with spending billions and billions of taxpayer dollars on
foreign aid.
Elect either John McCain or Barack Obama and it will be business as usual in
Washington, D.C.

Those folks who traveled from all over America to participate in Ron Paul’s
Freedom March last Saturday understand this.  They understand that unless we
awaken quickly to what the two major parties are doing to our country, we
will not have a free country much longer. This is why so many people were
willing to travel long distances and march in searing heat. They want their
country back. And so do I.

So, I say, God bless Congressman Ron Paul. God bless those Freedom Marchers.
And God bless all of those folks throughout America who are working
tirelessly to restore our once-great republic. As I said in my speech last
Saturday, “Your fight is my fight!”

If I Were President By Pastor Chuck Baldwin

Posted by soldierservant on May 6, 2008

This column is archived at
http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2008/cbarchive_20080502.html

Due to my frequent criticisms of President George W. Bush, I am often asked what I would do if I were President of these United States. This column will serve as an attempt to answer that question.

If I were President, I would begin the process of safely extracting our troops from Iraq. In the first place, our troops are no longer fighting a war, they are an occupation force, which occupies a sovereign country. And this is being done without a Declaration of War. The Iraqi people resent our occupation as much as we would resent another nation stronger than ours invading and occupying America. If such a thing happened to our beloved country, I’m sure many of us would also become “insurgents.”

In the second place, the invasion and occupation of Iraq was absolutely unnecessary. Instead of sacrificing more than 4,000 American lives and the lives of tens of thousands of Iraqi citizens (not to mention some 2-3 trillion dollars), President Bush should have supported Ron Paul’s bill, H.R. 3076, the September 11 Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001. This is the constitutional way to deal with rogue terrorist organizations. This is the way President Thomas Jefferson responded to the Barbary pirates.

According to Congressman Paul, “A letter of marque and reprisal is a constitutional tool specifically designed to give the President the authority to respond with appropriate force to those non-state actors who wage aggression against the United States while limiting his authority to only those responsible for the atrocities of that day. Such a limited authorization is consistent with the doctrine of just war and the practical aim of keeping Americans safe while minimizing the costs in blood and treasure of waging such an operation.”

Had President Bush responded in this manner, tens of thousands of lives would have been saved, trillions of dollars would not have needed to be spent, Osama bin Laden and most of his fellow terrorists would likely be dead, and we would not be bogged down in a nightmarish military quagmire in Iraq. And, if I were President, this is exactly how I would handle terrorist organizations such as al Qaeda.

Furthermore, it is absolutely ludicrous to say we are fighting a war on terror half way around the world when we refuse to secure our borders and ports. If I were President, I would immediately seal our borders. I would also see to it that employers in America who knowingly hire illegal aliens are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. In plain language: any employer who consciously hires illegal aliens would go to jail. They would not pass Go; they would not collect $200; they would go straight to jail.

By sealing the borders and by cutting off the money supply to illegal aliens, the problem of illegal immigration would dry up. As it is, we have no idea how many potential terrorists–not to mention violent gang members such as MS-13–have snuck (and are sneaking) through our borders.

And speaking of illegal immigration, as President, I would enforce our visa rules. This means anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law is immediately deported. There would be no “path to citizenship” given to any illegal alien. That means no amnesty. Not in any shape, manner, or form. I would not allow tax dollars to be used to pay for illegal aliens’ education, social services, or medical care. As President, I would end birthright citizenship for illegal aliens. There would be no “anchor babies” during my administration.

If I were President, I would use the bully pulpit of the White House to encourage Congress to pass Congressman Ron Paul’s Sanctity of Life Act. In short, this bill would do two things: First, it would declare that unborn babies are persons under the law. Second, under the authority of Article. III. Section. 2. of the U.S. Constitution, it would remove abortion from the jurisdiction of the Court. In essence, this bill would immediately overturn Roe v. Wade and end legalized abortion.

Republicans tout themselves as being “pro-life.” Yet, the GOP controlled both houses of Congress and the White House for six years and did absolutely nothing to overturn Roe or end abortion-on-demand. Under my administration, we could end legal abortion in a matter of days, not decades. And if Congress refused to pass Dr. Paul’s bill, I would use the constitutional power of the Presidency to deny funds to protect abortion clinics. Either way, legalized abortion ends when I take office.

On the subject of foreign policy, as President, I would end foreign aid. I would also end the current infatuation with nation-building, empire-building, and interventionism. America is not the world’s policeman. Neither are our military personnel the personal militia of the United Nations.

Remember that President Bush told the U.N. in 2003 that the reason we invaded Iraq was for the purpose of securing the “peace and credibility of the United Nations.” (I lie not; that is what he said.) President Bush also placed the U.S. back under UNESCO in spite of the fact that President Reagan had heroically taken the U.S. out from under that sinister organization.

I am sure that readers recall that the U.N. Charter was authored by a Soviet communist agent (Alger Hiss) and that the U.S. has been fighting wars for the U.N. ever since the organization was created back in 1945.

Speaking of the United Nations, as President, I would withhold funds from the support of the United Nations. In other words, I would get the U.S. out of the U.N. Beyond that, when I move into the White House, the U.N.’s rent is up! They move out of New York City post haste.

By the same token, there is absolutely no reason for us to be in NATO. We should not be antagonizing Russia by attempting to expand NATO. There is no reason why Russia could not become a friend and ally of the United States. Free and fair trade with Russia and a noninterventionist foreign policy in Europe would do much to endear American interests to Russia. To insist on expanding and empowering NATO only serves to further alienate Russia and drive her to make alliances with Communist China.

Speaking of China, it is time that we recognize the very serious threat that China poses to the peace and security of the United States. Our trade practices serve only to allow corporate America to continue to invest in what will surely become an albatross around the neck of our well-being. We must discontinue the practice of allowing China to export its cheap products to the U.S. with no protection for America’s jobs and manufacturing, not to mention the lack of protection for our safety. This must stop, and it will stop when I become President. “Free trade” will no longer mean a free ride for Red China.

Furthermore, as President, I would take the preservation of our nation’s sovereignty and independence extremely seriously. This means that the burgeoning North American Union is dead on arrival the day I am sworn in as President. Gone, too, is the NAFTA superhighway. And for that matter, I would lead the United States out of NAFTA and CAFTA altogether. And any prospect for the FTAA would be dead as well.

As President, I would be the best friend that gun owners (and lawful gun dealers), homeschoolers, and veterans ever had in the White House. These are three of the most persecuted, harassed, or overlooked groups of people in the country. But not if I were President.

There is no reason why our veterans should wait for weeks and months to receive the medical care they need. It is disgraceful that we would ask our brave men and women of the U.S. armed forces to fight our country’s battles and then leave them to pretty much fend for themselves when it comes to receiving adequate health care. I would make taking care of our veterans an extremely high priority, if I were President.

If I were President, I would also do everything in my power to locate and retrieve any and all MIAs. I personally believe that there are hundreds of our servicemen who are yet being held against their will in various parts of the world. I would make finding them and bringing them home of utmost priority, if I were President.

On the home front, if I were President, I would end corporate welfare. I would also work to disband the Department of Energy (along with the Department of Education and many other federal departments). There is absolutely no reason for us to be dependent upon OPEC. There is enough gas and oil under the soil of Alaska (not to mention the Dakotas and the Gulf of Mexico) to meet the energy needs of the United States for the next 150-200 years. There is also no reason that gas should cost more than $1.50 a gallon (which is about what it was before Bush became President).

We must begin drilling for the domestic oil that we know exists; we must build more refineries and nuclear power plants. There is no reason why the United States cannot be mostly energy independent. It is time we started putting the people and interests of the United States ahead of the CEOs and interests of international corporations.

Lastly, if I were President, I would work feverishly to overturn the Sixteenth Amendment, which would repeal the Income Tax. And, no, I would not promote a national sales tax. That would be disastrous! Can you imagine what a 30% sales tax would do to the cost of EVERYTHING? Plus, give politicians a national sales tax to increase and just imagine what kind of percent that would grow into!

I would also work to repeal the “death tax,” inheritance taxes, and property taxes. The American people are already paying somewhere between 30% and 40% of their income to Uncle Sam. It must stop. We are bankrupting our country with this incessant and burdensome tax system. In addition, I would work to expunge the Federal Reserve and to restore the American economy to sound money.

Now, I hear people say, That’s easy for you to say; you are not a candidate for President. Ah, but now I am.

Last week, in its national nominating convention in Kansas City, Missouri, the Constitution Party nominated me as its 2008 Presidential candidate. Party delegates nominated me over Ambassador Alan Keyes by a margin of 74% to 24%. Therefore, I am now a candidate for President of these United States.

Pro-Life Candidates Should Put Up Or Shut Up

Please consider this scenario. Several youngsters are drowning in a
neighborhood lake. They are thrashing the water and crying out for
help. There is a large, heavy raft nearby that could be used to rescue
the drowning youths, but it would take several people to haul it into
the water and then row it out to the victims.

Now, as it happens, there are more than enough people standing around
the lake whose combined efforts would be more than adequate to rescue
the drowning young people. Instead of grabbing the life raft and
heading out to save the victims, however, they all start making
speeches.

One by one, the would-be rescuers holler out that they believe in
life; they believe in saving the lives of the drowning young people.
They are all “pro-life.” The only problem is, none of them grabs the
raft and actually attempts to save the victims. So, here is the
sixty-four million dollar question: are these people really
“pro-life”? Do they really want to save the victims, or are they
simply pro-life pretenders who only want to talk about saving lives
but not actually do anything about it?

There is no one reading this column who would accept the pro-life
rhetoric of the people around the lake as justification for not
grabbing the life raft and actually saving the lives of those who were
drowning. Then, why do “pro-life” conservatives accept the rhetoric of
Republican politicians when there is no action to back it up?

If Mitt Romney, John McCain, Fred Thompson, and Mike Huckabee are
truly “pro-life,” they need to do more than just talk. They need to
put up or shut up!

Ladies and gentlemen, it doesn’t take some magical Supreme Court
appointment to overturn Roe v. Wade and end abortion-on-demand. If all
the Republicans who keep telling us that they are “pro-life”
(including President George W. Bush) were really pro-life, then why,
in spite of having had ample time and opportunity to end the abortion
holocaust, have they not done so?

In fact, the GOP has controlled the U.S. Supreme Court since the
infamous Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion-on-demand was
handed down in 1973. That means GOP appointments have dominated the
Court for over thirty years, and yet abortion-on-demand is still the
law of the land.

Beyond that, for six years (2000-2006), “pro-life” Republicans
controlled the entire federal government. And, for six years, millions
of unborn babies cried their silent screams as the abortionists’
scalpels ripped their little bodies apart in abortuaries throughout
America. And to use my opening analogy, all these “pro-life”
Republicans did was stand by the side of the lake and talk “pro-life,”
while the youngsters drowned in front of their eyes. During all this
time, the life raft sat unused on the shore.

Dear reader, the life raft for the millions of unborn babies
victimized by abortion-on-demand is the U.S. Constitution. However, we
have a bunch of arrogant and conceited imbeciles in Washington, D.C.,
who have neither the smarts nor guts to use this wonderful life raft.
It seems that the vast majority of them have absolutely no knowledge
of the Constitution–even though each and every one of them takes an
oath to preserve, protect, and defend it.

The only presidential candidate who has a commitment to saving the
lives of unborn babies and who understands the constitutional
authority of Congress to end abortion-on-demand is Texas Congressman
Ron Paul (with the exception of Alan Keyes, who recently announced his
candidacy). You read it right. At this point, John McCain is all talk;
Mitt Romney is all talk; Fred Thompson is all talk. And even Mike
Huckabee is all talk.

Huckabee says that when he was Governor of Arkansas he required
parental notification for abortions, required a woman give informed
consent before having an abortion, and required a woman be told that
her baby would experience pain and be given the option of anesthesia
for her baby. (Source: Mike Huckabee’s website) While this is
commendable, none of Huckabee’s actions did anything to actually end
abortion-on-demand.

When it comes to ending abortion-on-demand and overturning Roe v.
Wade, the only thing Mike Huckabee (and the rest of the Republican
presidential candidates, save Ron Paul and Alan Keyes) will say is
that they will appoint the right judges, as if they have no power as
President to do anything else. (Good grief! Even Rudy Giuliani says as
much.) My friends, these “pro-life” Republicans are either woefully
ignorant themselves or they are pulling the proverbial wool over our
eyes.

Ron Paul seems to be the only presidential candidate who understands
that under Article. III. Section. 2., the Constitution gives to the
Congress of the United States the power to hold rogue courts in check
and to overturn outlandish rulings such as Roe v. Wade.

Accordingly, Ron Paul has introduced and reintroduced the Sanctity of
Life Act (including in the current Congress). If passed, this Bill
would recognize the personhood of all unborn babies by declaring that
“human life shall be deemed to exist from conception.” The Bill also
recognizes the authority of each State to protect the lives of unborn
children. In addition, this Bill would remove abortion from the
jurisdiction of the Court, thereby nullifying the Roe v. Wade
decision. The Bill would also deny funding for abortion providers. In
plain language, the Bill would overturn Roe v. Wade and end
abortion-on-demand.

Is it not more than interesting that “pro-life” President George W.
Bush, along with the “pro-life” Republican Party leadership of both
houses of Congress, refused–and continues to refuse–to support Ron
Paul’s Sanctity of Life Act? In addition, not a single “pro-life”
presidential candidate outside of Ron Paul has even bothered to
mention the Sanctity of Life Act, much less aggressively call for its
implementation with a promise that, if elected President, he would
sign it into law. Not Huckabee; not McCain; not Thompson; not Romney;
none of them!

Why did John McCain not introduce Dr. Paul’s Sanctity of Life bill in
the U.S. Senate? Why have Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, and Fred
Thompson not committed to use the power of the bully pulpit of the
White House to push Congress to implement this Act? Again, either
these men are ignorant of their constitutional duties and
responsibilities (in which case, they are unqualified for the office
of President) or they are not truly serious about overturning Roe v.
Wade and ending abortion-on-demand (in which case, they are
conservative phonies and frauds).

I say again, it is time for “pro-life” Republicans to put up or shut
up!

Beyond that, it is time for Christian conservatives to stop being so
gullible. We need to start looking beyond eloquent rhetoric and
campaign clichés. We need to begin demanding results.

Every four years, Republicans trot out a conservative façade during an
election season for the purpose of obtaining the votes of susceptible
Christians. And every four years, conservative Christians–like
starving catfish–take the bait: hook, line, and sinker.

“Save us from the monster,” seems to be the cry of well-meaning–but
easily manipulated–conservatives. The “monster” is whoever the
Democrats nominate, of course. But, ladies and gentlemen, the
Republican Party has done absolutely nothing to change the course of
the country. Nothing! In fact, it has only gotten worse with
Republicans in charge.

Ron Paul is the only candidate running against the status quo. He is
the only candidate who takes his oath to the Constitution seriously.
He is the only candidate who, if elected, would actually turn the
country around. A Ron Paul victory would launch a new American
revolution: a revolution of freedom and independence such as we have
not seen since 1776. Furthermore, among the major Republican
presidential contenders, Ron Paul is the only candidate whose pro-life
commitment extends beyond rhetoric.

PS. One further note regarding Mike Huckabee. He will not win the GOP
nomination, but what he will do is wind up endorsing (or perhaps even
being selected as the Vice Presidential candidate) whichever
Republican candidate wins the nomination–even if he is a pro-abortion
candidate. Thus, he will fulfill his role in this election: to bring
Christian conservatives into the Republican fold, even without a
commitment to the life issue by their standard-bearer. In other words,
Huckabee is the establishment’s guy to make sure that the Christian
conservatives stay “in line.”
