Virginia Takes Con Con Stage by Chuck Baldwin

As I noted in this column a few weeks ago, proponents of assembling a new
Constitutional Convention are a scant two states away from achieving that
monstrous reality. (Please review my column on this subject at
http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2008/cbarchive_20081216.html )

At that time, the state of Ohio was in the crosshairs. Fortunately, enough
people from that good state inundated their state representatives with
objections, and the matter was tabled (for how long, no one knows). Now it
appears that the Commonwealth of Virginia is going to be the next
battleground state.

In all likelihood, the Virginia legislature will be the next state
government to take up the Con Con issue. It is imperative, therefore, that
the citizens of Virginia begin contacting their various representatives,
demanding that they not authorize the call for a new Constitutional
Convention.

As I noted in my previous column on this subject, "If called, a modern
Constitutional Convention could declare the U.S. Constitution to be null and
void, and could completely rewrite the document. For example, former U.S.
Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren Burger once declared, ‘There is no
effective way to limit or muzzle the actions of a Constitutional Convention.
The Convention could make its own rules and set its own agenda.’"

Since 32 states have already approved the new Con Con, only 2 more states
are required for the enactment of this debacle.

For clarification, Virginia already passed a Con Con resolution, but in 2004
rescinded that resolution. Therefore, the debate this year will be whether
to reverse the bill to rescind. Simply put, the state legislature in
Virginia may again take up the matter of issuing their call for a
Constitutional Convention very soon, and citizens in that good state need to
rally against it now!

To give readers a simple tally, the following states have never voted to
ratify a new Constitutional Convention: California, Connecticut, Hawaii,
Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New
Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia,
and Wisconsin.

These states voted for a new Constitutional Convention but later rescinded
their resolutions: Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Idaho, Utah, North Dakota,
Arizona, Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia.

If you do not see your state listed above, it means your state indeed voted
to call for a new Constitutional Convention and has not rescinded its vote.
I strongly suggest that citizens of these states demand that their
legislatures rescind their previous votes calling for a new Con Con. Start
now!

Of course, the problem is, it is not clear whether the court will allow
states to rescind their votes after having passed a Con Con resolution.
Article. V. of the U.S. Constitution is vague on the subject, and there is
no case law precedent on the matter. As far as I’m concerned, however, the
Tenth Amendment settles the issue, and states should be regarded as fully
qualified under the Constitution to determine their own fate in the matter.
Since there is nothing in the Constitution prohibiting rescission, states
are duly authorized to rescind their votes, as they please. But I don’t
expect the powers that be in Washington, D.C., to see it that way. Does
anyone remember that little skirmish known as the Civil War? This, in
essence, was the same view of the Confederate States: they voted to rescind
their decisions to join the Union. The tyrant, Abraham Lincoln, determined
that states have no such sovereignty (thus nullifying the Tenth Amendment,
among several others) and sent the entire federal army to force the southern
states back into the union. If history is any teacher, therefore, no state
will be allowed to rescind their votes, and we are only two states away from
a new Constitutional Convention being assembled.

There is no question in my mind that, should a new Constitutional Convention
be called, it would be the end of the United States of America as we know
it, and our current Constitution and Bill of Rights would be forever altered
beyond recognition. The globalists who currently control Washington, D.C.,
and Wall Street are, no doubt, salivating over the opportunity to officially
dismantle America’s independence and national sovereignty, and establish a
globalist North American Union–in much the same way that globalists created
the European Union. A new Constitutional Convention is exactly the tool they
need to cement their sinister scheme into law.

I urge readers to contact their state representatives regarding this
critical matter.

Praise For Lee And Jackson by Chuck Baldwin

Posted by soldierservant on May 26, 2009

This is interesting. It figures that the way everthing is going is all
backwards. It figures that Washington DC has the Lincoln memorial among
their pagan gods and occult symbols and those who they villify and hate
are the truly righteous ones. God will have no mercy on this wicked
country, or at least the wicked powers that be. The fact that we cannot
get any righteous leaders in this country proves what direction we are
headed. This country is known by its fruits. There is no hope for this
country when they do not desire righteous leaders when they had the
chance to make the difference. It is bad enough to have all the corrupt
politicians but worse having all the religious apostate mafia running
things too. All the signs are there for those who have eyes to see.

http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2009/cbarchive_20090116.html

January is often referred to as "Generals Month" since no less than four
famous Confederate Generals claimed January as their birth month: James
Longstreet (Jan. 8, 1821), Robert E. Lee (Jan. 19, 1807), Thomas Jonathan
"Stonewall" Jackson (Jan. 21, 1824), and George Pickett (Jan. 28, 1825). Two
of these men, Lee and Jackson, are particularly noteworthy.

Without question, Robert E. Lee and "Stonewall" Jackson were two of the
greatest military leaders of all time. Even more, many military historians
regard the Lee and Jackson tandem as perhaps the greatest battlefield duo in
the history of warfare. If Jackson had survived the battle of
Chancellorsville, it is very possible that the South would have prevailed at
Gettysburg and perhaps would even have won the War Between the States.

In fact, it was Lord Roberts, commander-in-chief of the British armies in
the early twentieth century, who said, "In my opinion, Stonewall Jackson was
one of the greatest natural military geniuses the world ever saw. I will go
even further than that–as a campaigner in the field, he never had a
superior. In some respects, I doubt whether he ever had an equal."

While the strategies and circumstances of the War of Northern Aggression can
(and will) be debated by professionals and laymen alike, one fact is
undeniable: Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. Jackson were two of the finest
Christian gentlemen this country has ever produced. Both their character and
their conduct were beyond reproach.

Unlike his northern counterpart, Ulysses S. Grant, General Lee never
sanctioned or condoned slavery. Upon inheriting slaves from his deceased
father-in-law, Lee immediately freed them. And according to historians,
Jackson enjoyed a familial relationship with those few slaves that were in
his home. In addition, unlike Abraham Lincoln and U.S. Grant, there is no
record of either Lee or Jackson ever speaking disparagingly of the black
race.

As those who are familiar with history know, General Grant and his wife held
personal slaves before and during the War Between the States, and, contrary
to popular opinion, even Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation did not free
the slaves of the North. They were not freed until the Thirteenth Amendment
was passed after the conclusion of the war. Grant’s excuse for not freeing
his slaves was that "good help is so hard to come by these days."

Furthermore, it is well established that Jackson regularly conducted a
Sunday School class for black children. This was a ministry he took very
seriously. As a result, he was dearly loved and appreciated by the children
and their parents.

In addition, both Jackson and Lee emphatically supported the abolition of
slavery. In fact, Lee called slavery "a moral and political evil." He also
said "the best men in the South" opposed it and welcomed its demise. Jackson
said he wished to see "the shackles struck from every slave."

To think that Lee and Jackson (and the vast majority of Confederate
soldiers) would fight and die to preserve an institution they considered
evil and abhorrent–and that they were already working to dismantle–is the
height of absurdity. It is equally repugnant to impugn and denigrate the
memory of these remarkable Christian gentlemen.

In fact, after refusing Abraham Lincoln’s offer to command the Union Army in
1861, Robert E. Lee wrote to his sister on April 20 of that year to explain
his decision. In the letter he wrote, "With all my devotion to the Union and
the feeling of loyalty and duty of an American citizen, I have not been able
to make up my mind to raise my hand against my relatives, my children, my
home. I have therefore resigned my commission in the army and save in
defense of my native state, with the sincere hope that my poor services may
never be needed . . ."

Lee’s decision to resign his commission with the Union Army must have been
the most difficult decision of his life. Remember that Lee’s direct
ancestors had fought in America’s War For Independence. His father, "Light
Horse Harry" Henry Lee, was a Revolutionary War hero, Governor of Virginia,
and member of Congress. In addition, members of his family were signatories
to the Declaration of Independence.

Remember, too, that not only did Robert E. Lee graduate from West Point "at
the head of his class" (according to Benjamin Hallowell), he is yet today
one of only six cadets to graduate from that prestigious academy without a
single demerit.

However, Lee knew that Lincoln’s decision to invade the South in order to
prevent its secession was both immoral and unconstitutional. As a man of
honor and integrity, the only thing Lee could do was that which his father
had done: fight for freedom and independence. And that is exactly what he
did.

Instead of allowing a politically correct culture to sully the memory of
Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. Jackson, all Americans should hold them in a
place of highest honor and respect. Anything less is a disservice to history
and a disgrace to the principles of truth and integrity.

Accordingly, it was more than appropriate that the late President Gerald
Ford, on August 5, 1975, signed Senate Joint Resolution 23, "restoring
posthumously the long overdue, full rights of citizenship to General Robert
E. Lee." According to President Ford, "This legislation corrects a 110-year
oversight of American history." He further said, "General Lee’s character
has been an example to succeeding generations . . ."

The significance of the lives of Generals Lee and Jackson cannot be
overvalued. While the character and influence of most of us will barely be
remembered two hundred days after our departure, the sterling character of
these men has endured for two hundred years. What a shame that so many of
America’s youth are being robbed of knowing and studying the virtue and
integrity of the great General Robert E. Lee and General Thomas J.
"Stonewall" Jackson.

A Very Real New World Order by Chuck Baldwin

Posted by soldierservant on May 26, 2009

Chuck is really right on about this. He even mentions here that there is
no difference between Rush or Savage. Of course there will be neocon
hypocrites who will only blame democrats for being globalists. Just like
when I recently made a comment to my mom about the absurdity of the
global warming concept she said it was all Al Gore. How stupid can you
get? Anyone that believes that also believes he invented the internet.
No one man is responsible for the global warming lie like no one man is
responsible for globalism. It is all a collective effort from the wicked
elitists that run everything. The global warming lie is all a part of
the rise of globalism. They have managed to convince all of the fools
against their own senses. As I am writing this our roads are being iced
over in an icestorm. Anyone that believes the global warming nonsense is
dumber than a pile of bricks, to put it mildly. Just remember that Newt
Gingrich and Pat Robertson has joined Al Gore in the global warming lie
propaganda to all you hypocrites that want to just blame Al Gore. This
proves how full of it you all are. One of my christian industrial bands
has soundbites all through some of their songs of Bush Sr. talking about
New World Order. There was even a secular industrial band that used that
very title. I tell you, a lot of christian bands, and even some secular
bands, are like modern day prophets. They see all this crap for exactly
what it is. People have been warned for a long time now, whether by
music or by blog or other means, so there will be no excuse. Those who
cannot see the truth for what it is now will not be able to when the
Beast comes on the scene and demand his mark on all. If most all are so
deceived now when the Beast hasn’t come to full power then they will not
be able to fight his deception when he does rise to full power. Those
who are still sold on all the lies prove that they have no love for the
truth or any love at all. For those who fit that description may as well
go ahead and kiss your soul goodbye because you have no sanity or
conscience left to be convicted of anything. In other words, not able to
repent. Those who still look towards this world for answers prove their
idolatry and contempt for God. They do not trust Him nor do they belong
to Him. They are of their father the devil. But to all the outcasts and
all that are fed up with this world, you have hope in only Christ alone
and no other source. Keep your eyes on him and do not conform to this
wicked world.

It is hard to believe, but a majority of Americans (including Christians and
conservatives) seem oblivious to the fact that there is a very real, very
legitimate New World Order (NWO) unfolding. In the face of overwhelming
evidence, most Americans not only seem totally unaware of this reality, they
seem unwilling to even remotely entertain the notion.

On one hand, it is understandable that so many Americans would be ignorant
of the emerging New World Order. After all, the mainstream media refuses to
report, or even acknowledge, the NWO. Even "conservative" commentators and
talk show hosts such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, or Joe
Scarborough refuse to discuss it. And when listeners call these respective
programs, these "conservative" hosts usually resort to insulting the caller
as being some kind of "conspiracy kook." One host even railed that if anyone
questions the government line on 9/11, we should "lock them up and throw
away the key." So much for freedom of speech!

This is an area–perhaps the central area–where liberals and conservatives
agree: they both show no patience or tolerance for anyone who believes that
global government (in any form) is evolving. One has to wonder how otherwise
intelligent and thoughtful people can be so brain dead when it comes to this
issue. It makes one wonder who is really pulling their strings, doesn’t it?

The list of notable personalities who have openly referenced or called for
some kind of global government or New World Order is extremely lengthy. Are
all these people "kooks" or "conspiracy nuts"? Why would world
leaders–including presidents, secretaries of state, and high government
officials; including the media, financial, and political elite–constantly
refer to something that doesn’t exist? Why would they write about, talk
about, or openly promote a New World Order, if there is no such thing?

Many of us recall President George Herbert Walker Bush talking much about an
emerging New World Order. For example, in 1989, Bush told the students of
Texas A&M University, "Perhaps the world order of the future will truly be a
family of nations."

Later, Bush, Sr. said, "We have before us the opportunity to forge for
ourselves and for future generations a new world order . . .. When we are
successful, and we will be, we have a real chance at this new world order,
an order in which a credible United Nations can use its peacekeeping role to
fulfill the promise and vision of the U.N.’s founders."

Bush, Sr. also said, "What is at stake is more than one small country, it is
a big idea–a new world order."

Bush, Sr. further said, "The world can therefore seize the opportunity to
fulfill the long-held promise of a new world order . . ."

What was President G.H.W. Bush talking about, if there is no such thing as
an emerging New World Order? Was he talking out of his mind? Was he
hallucinating?

England’s Prime Minister, Tony Blair, said, "We are all internationalists
now, whether we like it or not." He continued saying, "On the eve of a new
Millennium we are now in a new world. We need new rules for international
co-operation and new ways of organizing our international institutions." He
also said, "Today the impulse towards interdependence is immeasurably
greater. We are witnessing the beginnings of a new doctrine of international
community."

In 1999, Tony Blair said, "Globalization has transformed our economies and
our working practices. But globalism is not just economic. It is also a
political and security phenomenon."

What is Tony Blair talking about, if there is no emerging New World Order?
What does he mean by "a new doctrine of international community"? What does
he mean by "new world"? How can one have globalism, which includes "a
political and security phenomenon," without creating a New World Order? Is
Tony Blair hallucinating?

Likewise, former President George W. Bush penned his signature to the
Declaration of Quebec back on April 22, 2001, in which he gave a "commitment
to hemispheric integration and national and collective responsibility for
improving the economic well-being and security of our people."

By "our people," Bush meant the people of the Western Hemisphere, not the
people of the United States. Phyllis Schlafly rightly reminded us that G.W.
Bush "pledged that the United States will ‘build a hemispheric family on the
basis of a more just and democratic international order.’"

Remember, too, that it was G.W. Bush who, back in 2005, committed the United
States to the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP), which is nothing
more than a precursor to the North American Community or Union, as outlined
in CFR member Robert Pastor’s manual, "Toward a North American Community."

If there is no such thing as an emerging New World Order, what was G.W. Bush
talking about when he referred to "a hemispheric family" and an
"international order"?

The public statements of notable world leaders regarding an emerging New
World Order are copious. Consider the statements of former CBS newsman,
Walter Cronkite.

In his book, "A Reporter’s Life," Walter Cronkite said, "A system of world
order–preferably a system of world government–is mandatory. The proud
nations someday will see the light and, for the common good and their own
survival, yield up their precious sovereignty . . ." Cronkite told BBC
newsman Tim Sebastian, "I think we are realizing that we are going to have
to have an international rule of law." He added, "We need not only an
executive to make international law, but we need the military forces to
enforce that law." Cronkite also said, "American people are going to begin
to realize that perhaps they are going to have to yield some sovereignty to
an international body to enforce world law."

If there is no emerging New World Order, what is Walter Cronkite talking
about? Can there be any doubt that Cronkite is talking about global
government? Absolutely not!

Now, when Bush, Sr. talks about fulfilling "the promise and vision of the
U.N.’s founders," he was talking about the same thing former UN
Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali was talking about when he said, "The
time for absolute and exclusive sovereignty . . . has passed."

The United Nations has been on the forefront of promoting the New World
Order agenda since its very inception. In 1995, the UN released a manual
entitled, "Our Global Neighborhood." It states, "Population, consumption,
technology, development, and the environment are linked in complex
relationships that bear closely on human welfare in the global neighborhood.
Their effective and equitable management calls for a systematic, long-term,
global approach guided by the principle of sustainable development, which
has been the central lesson from the mounting ecological dangers of recent
times. Its universal application is a priority among the tasks of global
governance."

If there is no emerging New World Order, what is "global governance" all
about?

"Who are the movers and shakers promoting global government?" you ask.
Obviously, it is the international bankers who are the heavyweights behind
the push for global government. Remember, one cannot create a "global
economy" without a global government to manage, oversee, and control it.

In a letter written to Colonel E. Mandell House, President Franklin D.
Roosevelt said, "The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a
financial element in the large centers has owned the government of the U.S.
since the days of Andrew Jackson."

"Old Hickory" did his best to rid the United States from the death grip that
the international bankers were beginning to exert on this country. He may
have been the last President to actually oppose the bankers. In discussing
the Bank Renewal bill with a delegation of bankers in 1832, Jackson said,
"Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time, and I am convinced
that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of
the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you
lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits
from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families.
That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on,
you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a
den of vipers and thieves. I intend to rout you out, and by the eternal God,
I will rout you out."

Unfortunately, the international bankers proved themselves to be too
formidable for President Jackson. And in 1913, with the collaboration of
President Woodrow Wilson, the bankers were given charge over America’s
financial system by the creation of the Federal Reserve.

Ever since the CFR and Trilateral Commission were created, they have filled
the key leadership positions of government, big media, and of course, the
Federal Reserve.

In his book, "With No Apologies," former Republican Presidential nominee
Barry Goldwater wrote, "The Trilateral Commission is intended to be the
vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking
interests by seizing control of the political government of the United
States. The Trilateral Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort
to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power– political,
monetary, intellectual and ecclesiastical. What the Trilateral Commission
intends is to create a worldwide economic power superior to the political
governments of the nation-states involved. As managers and creators of the
system, they will rule the future." Was Goldwater a prophet or what?

And again, the goals of the global elite have been publicly stated. Back in
1991, the founder of the CFR, David Rockefeller praised the major media for
their complicity in helping to facilitate the globalist agenda by saying,
"We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine
and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and
respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. . . . It
would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we
had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the
world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world
government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world
bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in
past centuries."

How could Rockefeller be any plainer? He acknowledged the willful assistance
of the major media in helping to keep the elitists’ agenda of global
government from the American people. To this day, the major media has not
deviated from that collaboration. And this includes the aforementioned
"conservative" talking heads. They know if they want to keep their jobs,
they dare not reveal the New World Order. The NWO, more than anything else,
is the "Third Rail" to the national media.

Is it any wonder that President Barack Obama has stacked his government with
numerous members of the CFR? Among these are Robert Gates, Janet Napolitano,
Eric Shinseki, Timothy Geithner, and Tom Daschle. Other CFR members include
CFR President Richard Haass, CFR Director Richard Holbrooke, and founding
member of the Trilateral Commission and CFR member Paul Volcker. Obama even
asked a CFR member, Rick Warren, to deliver the inaugural prayer.

Still not convinced? Just a few days ago, when asked by a reporter what he
thought the most important thing was that Barack Obama could accomplish,
former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger said, "I think his task will be
develop an overall strategy for America in this period when, really, a New
World Order can be created. It’s a great opportunity; it isn’t just a
crisis."

This is the same Henry Kissinger, you will recall, who said back in 1991,
"Today, America would be outraged if UN troops entered Los Angeles to
restore order. Tomorrow, they will be grateful! This is especially true if
they were told that there were [sic] an outside threat from beyond, whether
real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all
peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one
thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario,
individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their
well-being granted to them by the World Government."

Even Gideon Rachman, the chief foreign affairs commentator for the Financial
Times, wrote an editorial expressing his support for world government. In
his column he said, "I have never believed that there is a secret United
Nations plot to take over the US. . . . But, for the first time in my life,
I think the formation of some sort of world government is plausible.

"A ‘world government’ would involve much more than co-operation between
nations. It would be an entity with state-like characteristics, backed by a
body of laws. The European Union has already set up a continental government
for 27 countries, which could be a model. The EU has a supreme court, a
currency, thousands of pages of law, a large civil service and the ability
to deploy military force.

"So could the European model go global? There are three reasons for thinking
that it might."

Rachman then goes on to explain the reasons why he believes world government
is plausible.

Do you now see why it does not matter to a tinker’s dam whether it is a
Republican or Democrat who resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? For the most
part, both major parties in Washington, D.C., have been under the dominating
influence of the international bankers who control the Federal Reserve, the
CFR, and the Trilateral Commission. And this is also why it does not matter
whether one calls himself conservative or liberal. For the most part, both
conservatives and liberals in Washington, D.C., are facilitating the
emerging New World Order. It is time we wake up to this reality.

Presidents Bush, Sr., Bill Clinton, and Bush, Jr. have thoroughly set the
table for the implementation of the NWO, as surely as the sun rises in the
east. All Obama has to do is put the food on the table–and you can count on
this: Barack Obama will serve up a New World Order feast like you cannot
believe!

That a New World Order is emerging is not in question. The only question is,
What will freedom-loving Americans do about it? Of course, the first thing
they have to do is admit that an emerging New World Order exists! Until
conservatives, Christians, pastors, constitutionalists, and others who care
about a sovereign, independent United States acknowledge the reality of an
emerging New World Order, they will be incapable of opposing it. And right
now, that is exactly what they are not doing.

GREAT CATHOLIC WHORE

Posted by soldierservant on May 21, 2009

There is no doubt that the catholic church is the Great Whore of
Revelation. Catholicism has spawned many false religions, and the most
evil ones at that, like satanism and islam. While the protestant church
has also come from among the catholic church under the guise of
reformation it has still kept many of the catholic teachings and
traditions. One of such is the false sabbath of Sunday as well as false
teachings of a secret pretribulation rapture that is never found in
scripture. Paul gave stern warning to those who add or take away from
scripture. The religious leaders are all bowing to the pope and
catholicism in general. Neocon talk show hosts like Sean Hannity are
catholics. Catholicism is embedded all throughout this ungodly world
system. It is no doubt the very religion of the Beast himself and will
no doubt become the dominant one world religion. We know the evil nature
of catholicism just from its very past such as the crusades. This very
same theocratic evil rears its ugly head again. Those who never learn
from the past are doomed to repeat it. The catholic church has nothing
but evil history. Catholicism is the religion of the godless. Those who
love lies will pay the eternal price. Jesus made it clear that there is
only one mediator, which is him. All the popes will burn in hell for
their blasphemy. People had better wake up and get out of this godless
religion and have nothing to do with the religious vipers that respect
these blasphemers. The protestant church is a part of the catholic
church and is why they have no problem merging with catholics because
they are really the same. Protestant churches prove their false fruit
because they are all divided into countless number of denominations.
Those who know God’s word knows what it says about division in the
church. Funny how the religious really know nothing of God’s word.

Best And Worst Of 2008 by Chuck Baldwin

I guess you have been hearing about the mess in Gaza. Well you know who
we have to thank for that, Bush. There would not be this conflict if it
wasn’t for Bush’s policies and supporting terrorists. I heard just a
little bit of Rush Limbaugh today and could not believe the stupidity. I
have never heard anyone so disconnected from reality as him, well other
than other neocon schmucks but you know what I mean. This idiot still
actually thinks Bush is a great conservative. After he has bailout the
corrupt bankers, outsourced most manufacturing jobs, and has continued
his globalist agenda, plus so much more. Where is the conservatism?
These neocons are such hypocrites because they point the finger at
democrats for the very same thing they are guilty of. Like global
warming they like to blame Al Gore but on his tream is Newt Gingrich and
Pat Robertson. After all that has gone down none of the neocons never
changed and never will. We were never neocons because we were able to
change. Neocons are idolaters that love lies and they will pay in an
eternity of hell. Rush could not understand why there is so much dislike
of Bush. Well maybe because they lost their jobs due to Bush’s
outsourcing. Maybe it has to do with Bush selling out the country. Maybe
it has to with with being the biggest lame duck president ever that has
not reversed any liberal policies. Maybe it has to do with the economy,
which is undeniable, and so many going bankrupt or becoming homeless.
Maybe it has to do with him trying to divide Israel. Maybe it has to do
wth him loving war, money, and himself more than anything else. Maybe it
has to do with taking the side of criminals over citizens and those who
serve our country. Maybe it has to do with Bush denying the very
lordship of Christ. The bible says that those who are evil and love lies
cannot understand truth. Anybody that cannot understand the dislike of
Bush is a liar and a lover of lies in danger of hellfire. Anyone that is
capable of repenting better do so before it is too late because God does
not allow liars and idolaters in heaven. It doesn’t matter what the idol
is, whethr Bush, Rush, or the military. The real question is not to
those who dislike Bush for a multitude of reasons. The real question is
what is there to like about Bush. Those who still listen to Rush are the
dumbest baindead morons ever to exist and are pure evil. You know who
you are and you will not escape the justice of God! Neocons still
support these rich oppressors that have brought this ruin on us.
Supporting such as the likes of Bush is like literally stealing from the
poor. It doesn’t matter about the facade because I am sure that some
support charities all the while though they support these rich
oppressors. Jesus made clear who the sheep from the goats are. We know
neocons are goats and hate Christ through all their actions (Titus
1:16). That is why they have no problem with Bush dividing Israel or
denying the lordship of Christ. There will be no mercy for such
godhating antichrists. Matthew 7:21-23 makes that clear.

With 2008 just concluded, today’s column will be my analysis of the best and
worst of the year just spent. First, the best: my wife, Connie, and our
family. As the Constitution Party candidate for President, I logged more
than 30,000 miles and visited more than 30 states. I traveled most of those
miles alone–as costs prohibited my wife from traveling with me–and most
flights were flown in the coach cabin. In fact, my wife and I were apart
more last year than the previous 34 years of married life combined. Needless
to say, I am not cut out to be a traveling salesman. The time away from home
was extremely difficult.

I am grateful to God for giving me the outstanding family I have. Connie is
amazing! And our three grown children (Sarah, Chris, and Tim) and their
spouses (Allan, Jana, and Jennifer) are absolutely the greatest. Each one of
them is a champion-patriot in his or her own right. They love God; they love
freedom; they love their parents and each other; they are independent
thinkers and courageous Christians. We are as close a family as one will
ever find. They are my best and closest friends.

Those faithful members of Crossroad Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida who
prayed for me, stood by me, and supported me during a grueling campaign
certainly make it to my "best" list for 2008. When I first announced the
invitation and opportunity that had been afforded me to become an
Independent candidate for President to my church family, several families
walked out the back door. Some of these folks were "friends" for many years.
Fortunately, however, the vast majority of my church family remained
steadfast and unmovable. Try to imagine a church anywhere else in America
that would stand by and support a pastor, as he takes a "sabbatical" to run
for President.  Most churches today will not even tolerate a pastor who
dares to take a stand for anything controversial. The faithful stalwarts at
Crossroad Church make my "best" list.

Actually, there were many highlights of 2008. The many friends and
supporters I met around the country have to make my "best" list, for sure.
The many LDS folks who supported me in Utah and surrounding states were a
real highlight. People such as Frank Fluckiger, Scott Bradley and Matt
Moody, to name a few.

The great folks who hosted Connie and I in Spokane, Washington, (yes, Connie
was able to make this trip with me) make it to my "best" list. I am talking
about Bob Peck and his entire team. They were terrific.

The guys out in California, who helped provide the VIP tour of America’s
busiest immigration port near San Diego for me, also make my "best" list for
2008. In addition to the legal border crossing at San Ysidro, they also took
me out into the California desert in 110-degree heat to take a firsthand
look at the real border. However bad you may think our illegal immigration
problem is, it is ten times worse than that. I was able to meet with Border
Patrol agents and Border Patrol Auxiliary personnel, as well. It was a real
education. Thanks are especially due to retired Air Force Master Sergeant
(and retired Deputy Sheriff) Larry Breazeale.

Perhaps the most fascinating man I got to know last year was retired Air
Force Brigadier General Charles Jones. What an amazing man! We have become
fast friends. Getting to know the general was one of the "best" events of
2008, for sure.

From an organizational perspective, Thom Holmes, out there in Okalahoma, was
probably the most indispensable and valuable asset to my campaign last year.
He kept my travel and hotel itinerary intact for me. He was on top of every
detail. I could not have done it without him. Of course, Darrell Castle was
a terrific running mate and a first class gentleman. Joe Sanger in Michigan,
and Lowell and Bethany Patterson in New Jersey were also able and
indispensable associates.

Lou Dobbs makes my "best" list for 2008, as well. He was the one major
television talk show host who was willing to have me as a guest on his
program. It is not surprising that Lou Dobbs was about the only notable
television talk show host during 2008 who was willing to confront the truth
regarding a host of issues: from the North American Union, to illegal
immigration, to Ramos and Compean, to the criminal international bankers.
Thanks, Lou.

Close to the top of my "best" list is Congressman Ron Paul. What a terrific
champion for freedom and constitutional government he is! I was able to get
to know Ron quite well during the campaign, and was both humbled and honored
when he publicly endorsed my candidacy. Thank you, Ron. You are the best man
we have on Capitol Hill.

South Carolina senatorial candidate, Bob Conley, also makes my "best" list
of 2008. Here was a guy who was willing to take on the neocon senator,
Lindsey Graham. Had he had the support of the so-called conservative
Christians, he would have won. But most conservative Christians are so
myopic and uninformed today that they cannot think outside the box. And
because Bob ran as a Democrat, they would not support him. What a shame! Bob
was as solid a constitutionalist patriot as one will ever find. You did us
all proud, Bob.

In the print media, Bob Dill, who publishes the Times Examiner in
Greenville, South Carolina, makes it to my "best" list, as well. Bob
represents the shrinking number of courageous publishers who know what’s
going on and are not afraid to print the truth.

Speaking of South Carolina, Dorchester County Sheriff Ray Nash also makes it
to my "best" list for 2008. I first met Ray on the campaign trail in the
Palmetto State and then invited him to be our guest speaker for our God and
Country Day on Election Sunday, November 4. He brought a magnificent
address. I was so impressed with his presentation that we made copies and
sent them to every elected official in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties in
Florida. You can view Sheriff Nash’s video presentation at
http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/Sheriff-Nash.html .

The opportunity I had to speak at the 50th Anniversary of the John Birch
Society in Appleton, Wisconsin also makes my "best" list for 2008. John
McManus and Art Thompson were gracious hosts and have become good friends.
The Birch Society is one of the bright spots in America today. No
organization has been more unduly criticized as the John Birch Society. And
yet, their commitment to liberty and constitutional government has never
waned. My hat is off to them.

The New American magazine is still the finest news publication in America.
Year in and year out, TNA is the best.

Speaking at the Indianapolis Baptist Temple (IBT) in Indianapolis, Indiana
also needs to be included in my "best" list of 2008. It was a pleasure to be
with Dr. Greg Dixon, his son, Pastor Greg Dixon, and Dr. Don Boys again. The
IBT has gone through more tribulation than most churches can possibly
imagine (at least those in America), and they are still going strong. What a
great congregation of dedicated and determined believers! They remind me of
courageous Christians from yesteryear. I was honored to speak before them.

Internet publishers such as Paul Walter make my "best" list, too. Paul
publishes News With Views. He and people such as Jim Rudd at Covenant News
have carried my columns for years. These are men who also know what’s going
on and are not afraid to print the truth. Thanks, guys.

Other web sites that were especially beneficial to patriots in 2008 were
World Net Daily, VDARE, Freedom’s Phoenix, Renew America, and Gary Shumway’s
Red Pills. In Pensacola, my friend, Mike West, at Gulf1, was the man who
first got me thinking about publishing a column such as this. Thanks for the
idea, Mike.

Without these (and other) great Internet news sites, the American people,
for the most part, would not have convenient access to the truth. Most of
the major media and major "conservative" radio talk shows today are little
more than lackeys for New World Order Republicans, and are therefore
worthless to the cause of liberty.

In addition to the mainstream media, and worthless talk show hosts such as
Sean Hannity, I must include the majority of so-called leaders within the
Religious Right as making my "worst" list for 2008. I include James Dobson,
Pat Robertson, and Tony Perkins on this list.

For all intents and purposes, the Religious Right has become nothing more
than a gaggle of glorified hacks for the Republican Party. They have
sacrificed virtually every principle worth defending. For the sake of
sitting at the king’s table, or not losing financial support from brain-dead
contributors, these men have sold the cause of freedom and constitutional
government down the river. Their mindless support for John McCain was
inexcusable and embarrassing! In so doing, they have lost all credibility.

Also making my "worst" list in 2008 are the many pastors and church members
around the country who continued to support one of the worst Presidents in
American history: George W. Bush. This man has taken America to the
precipice of financial ruin; he has created the foundation for a police
state; he has trampled the Constitution and Bill of Rights like no President
since Abraham Lincoln; he has used our bravest and best for his sinister
plans of interventionist adventurism; he has set the wheels of global
government and national socialism in motion, as has no other President (I’m
sure Barack Obama will do more than his share to augment socialism in the
United States, but remember, it is George W. Bush that has laid the
foundation for the acceptance of national socialism).  I’m not sure that
America will ever truly recover from his Presidency. Yet, a majority of
conservative pastors and church members continue to idolize George Bush.
What an embarrassment!

Both the Democrat and Republican Parties make my "worst" list for 2008. In
one year, both major parties nominated two men, neither of whom was
constitutionally qualified to be President of the United States. Now, that’s
quite a feat!

The Council on Foreign Relations, international bankers, and other global
elitists also make my "worst" list for 2008. When will the people of America
awaken to the reality that our worst enemies are not "liberals" and
"leftists," as much as they are the global elitists who control the Federal
Reserve and other internationalist entities that are committed to
dismantling America’s independence and sovereignty?

Notable deaths that contributed to the down side of 2008 include veteran
radio broadcaster George Putnam. I wrote a column eulogizing George shortly
after his death in September. Read it at
http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2008/cbarchive_20080923.html

Other folks I hated to see leave us were Bob Jeter, cornerback from the
championship teams of the 1960s Green Bay Packers; Ivan Dixon, from the old
Hogan’s Heroes TV sitcom; famed actor and NRA president Charlton Heston;
Eddy Arnold, the great country-western singer; Dick Martin, from the old
Rowan and Martin TV comedy show; the hilarious Harvey Korman; the great
freedom fighter, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn; the never-equaled voice of "In a
world" announcer, Don LaFontaine; "Cool Hand Luke" Paul Newman; and actor
Van Johnson, who starred in over 100 movies, and I don’t think I ever saw a
bad one.

Finally, my beloved Green Bay Packers make my "worst" list for 2008 for
shoving Brett Favre out the door for what was certainly his last NFL season.
As a result, the Pack went from a 13-3 playoff team to a 6-10
stay-home-and-watch team. Favre should have finished his hall of fame career
in Green Bay. That he didn’t is a shame.

There you have it: my best and worst of 2008. I trust that all of us will
truly have a Happy New Year!

Skin for Skin

Posted by soldierservant on May 21, 2009

You may find this interesting. These are reviews and I noticed one of
them a ways down mentioned there is a song against the evil policies of
the Bush administration. You see I told you that there is much truth in
the christian rock scen as well as some of the secular. Praise God for
these bands! They are like the lone voice crying in the wilderness. I
came across an old band in their earliest release back in 1980 that had
a song called Spiritual Games that is ever so relevant today. It dealt
with the hypocrisy of the church that is preaching materialism and
humanism. Wow! They are indeed prophets. They do not go with the flow
but go against the grain as many other bands have song titles of just
that. These bands were not fooled even when I was in either political or
eligious deception. This proves that these bands are indeed used by God
and I know anyone who attacks them have a heart of the devil because
they cannot stand the truth they preach, so they try to put them down
just over the music. Their wicked hearts are exposed, Praise God. We
know just exacty who they are and wh they serve! I tell my brother of
this but get know response. His silence is his guilt. I hope this is
encouragement to you that not all are lost and to anyone else who reads
this.

Where’d the bailout money go? Shh, it’s a secret

Posted by soldierservant on May 21, 2009

If this bailout was legit then why the secrecy? Hypocrites like my dad
told me that those in the auto industry make $71 an hour, implying that
all make that amount, which is a flat out lie. Many only make $12-$17 an
hour. Those that make $71 an hour are either those who have been there a
long time or those who are in high position. That shows you the
stupidity and immaturity of such a statement. There is no company or
corporation where everyone makes the exact same amount. Those who can’t
understand that are imbeciles and morons, and flat out hypocrites. I try
to avoid any discussions with them because it is insane trying to make
any rational sense to such lunatics. I also heed the biblical admonition
to not argue with fools. In good time they will give an account for
their reprobate state. So what of those making $71? That is nothing
compared to what these banking crooks are making. My family are the
biggest bunch of hypocrites. Here they listen to Rush who says that
corporate greed is the good capitalist thing to do but then turn
completely around and get covetous over auto makers and yet no outrage
for the banking crooks. They probably didn’t take that direction on
their own but probably from Rush, because all such neocons cannot think
for themselves because they are braindead but have to be told what to
think by the likes of Rush, who is the ultimate hypocrite. He pretends
that he is so patriotic but is all for selling this country out in the
name of greed and calls it capitalism. What kind of warped lunatic
actually think it is in the country’s best interest to sell it out, as
well as leaving our borders wide open? Back when the hot topic of McCain
having seven houses I mention how insane it was that it was the american
dream to own 7 houses, my mom’s only reply was "what about Obama’s
house?" That doesn’t make any sense. You see how stupid these people
are? They cannot answer a direct question. Those who cannot answer a
direct question are evil and coniving liars. Jesus said to let your yes
be yes and your no be no, that all else is of the enemy. These idiots
have a problem with automakers making $71 an hour but yet no problem
with McCain’s 7 houses? You should see how they respond when I talk
about Bush dividing Israel. This proves their wicked heart when they
want to defend an antichrist that is dividing Israel and make excuses
for him. Back a while before the election my dad thought that McCain was
a christian. This is even after how McCain has rejected their own
televangelist apostate idols and makes no strong claim to faith as even
Bush had. So you see how warped they are. They are definitely given over
to lies when they actually believe that. They are not even consistent in
their own lies which proves they serve the master of confusion and
chaos. Those who cannot see clearly the truth have darkened eyes and
whose master is Satan. Their deception is not so innocent though because
when I confront them with the truth they always make excuses and try to
dodge around the issues, which proves on some level that they are
somewhat aware of their own wickedness. They are those who delight in
wickedness and whom God has given over to a strong delusion. That is why
the truth cannot penetrate their warped thinking because they have sold
out to Satan and are not capable of understanding truth. They are those
who love and practice falsehoods as mentioned in Revelation 22:15 as
among the eternally condemned. These neocons are the white trash scum of
the earth. They are so selfish and hypocritical. It is no wonder that
they are doomed to damnation. They are full of every carnal evil and do
not know God. I like to blame all our problems on their thinking but
their friends, who are probably much like them, are doing well
themselves. So in a way it is worse that all these bad things are
happening because that gives them a persecution complex thinking that
Satan is really threatened by their apostasy. The only thing is that
they can never seem to overcome and I’m outnumbered, making it almost
impossible for me to get anywhere myself. No matter what they believe I
am not against them having money because I know they will have to give
an account for all the apostates they support, so it is on their heads
either way. I know and understand why you might not want to blog this
because it seems personal, but I think it is important to expose the
examples of those who are lost in apostasy. I know my parents aren’t
alone in this warped state. So many out there that must be like this and
we need to try to at least warn them of walking down this wicked path.
Can any fool who claims to be christian think they can get away with
supporting a president that divides Israel and denies the supremacy of
Christ? Not to mention so many other lies. All else doesn’t matter too
much because if you are not with Christ then you are against him. All
are against God when they oppose His chosen people, Israel. You cannot
drink of the cup of the Lord and drink from the cup of demons too. That
is what many apostates who think of themselves as christians actually
think they can get away with.

Ramos And Compean Are Going Home by Chuck Baldwin

Posted by soldierservant on May 21, 2009

Amen to this! Preach it Chuck! Bush talked about their crimes? What
crimes? Doing their job was a crime? If anyone needs to be sentenced it
is Bush.  I PRAY TO GOD THAT JUSTICE WILL CATCH UP TO GWB FOR ALL HIS
CRIMES! Those who seem to escape justice in this life will have eternal
hell to pay. Where are the leftist leaders and why are they not speaking
out against all of Bush’s crimes? This proves that they are no
different. From one scoundrel to another. Obama’s color does not make
him a saint. He is just another scoundrel. May they all burn in hell.
God is the only fair and just judge and all will have to answer to Him!
Jesus is returning to judge this wicked world and all who partake in its
darkness. Hypocrite apostates talk about endtime revival, which only
amounts to a display of emotions and nothing else. If there was to be a
true godly revival we would know it by its fruit. If there was true
revival the homeless would be taken care of and no true saint of God
would be living it up while there are starving people all around them.
Those rich would follow Jesus’ advice and sell all they have to give to
the poor. If there was revival then people would have better discernment
then following and looking up to scoundrels and apostates. If there was
revival then there would not be so many winds of doctrines and doctrines
of devils that are ever so popular today. Hypocrites that think
following God just means attending church on the false sabbath and live
like the world the rest of the time. To truly follow God means that you
are not conformed to all the lies of this world like that of politics
and apostate institutions. It is exactly how the bible says of the end
times, which proves that God’s word is true and every man a liar. Man’s
teachings teach of an endtime revival and a secret rapture, which
contradicts what Christ’s taught. Choose this day whom you will serve.
It is either Christ or man. It cannot be both.

This column is archived at
http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2009/cbarchive_20090120.html

After tens of thousands of phone calls and emails, after the combined
efforts of columnists such as myself and radio and television talk show
hosts such as Lou Dobbs, and even after persistent appeals by congressmen
such as Dana Rohrabacher, former Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose
Compean finally received a commutation of their 10-plus year prison
sentences from outgoing President George W. Bush and will soon be going
home. It’s about time! What took Mr. Bush so long?

Ramos and Compean were victimized by an out-of-control U.S. Attorney by the
name of Johnny Sutton (who should be fired for his despicable conduct), and
by a White House that cared more about appeasing the Mexican government than
it did about protecting the American border and the Border Patrol agents who
were trying to do their jobs.

I won’t rehash the details of this unbelievable miscarriage of justice, as I
have already covered this atrocity in past columns. See two of these columns
at:

http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2007/cbarchive_20070731.html

http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2007/cbarchive_20070131.html

I was also privileged to appear with Agent Ramos’ wife, Monica, on the Lou
Dobbs show last year. As such, I was the only Presidential candidate in 2008
who publicly promised to fully pardon (not just grant commutation to) Ramos
and Compean. See the video at:

According to press reports, now that President Bush has commuted the
sentences of Ramos and Compean, they should be released from prison "within
the next two months." In issuing the commutation, it was made clear that
"Bush didn’t pardon the men for their crimes, but decided instead to commute
their prison sentences because he believed they were excessive and that they
had already suffered the loss of their jobs, freedom and reputations."

The senior administration official quoted also said, "The action by the
president, who believes the border agents received fair trials and that the
verdicts were just, does not diminish the seriousness of their crimes."

Ramos and Compean have served about two years of their sentences.

And, as far as what the Bush administration official said, let’s set the
record straight. First of all, while Ramos and Compean have lost their jobs
and more than two years of freedom (not to mention untold grief and agony by
their family members), they have not lost their reputations. If anyone has
lost their reputation, it is Johnny Sutton and George W. Bush, his act of
clemency notwithstanding.

Secondly, if the trial and conviction of Ramos and Compean is an example of
a "fair trial," everyone in the country better pray they never have to go to
trial. The truth is, if there ever was an example of a Kangaroo Court in
these United States, it was the trial of Ramos and Compean.

Thirdly, the "crimes" that were committed were perpetrated by a serial
drug-smuggling illegal alien, and then by a groveling, grotesque U.S.
Attorney’s office under the leadership of Johnny Sutton.

And lest readers think that Ramos and Compean were alone in the wake of a
Presidential administration bent on sacrificing American law enforcement
personnel on the altar of appeasement to the Mexican government, please
familiarize yourself with the case of the brave Texas Sheriff’s Deputy,
Gilmer Hernandez; and with the case of the heinous Mexican murderer, Jose
Ernesto Medellin. It is incomprehensible what the Bush administration has
done to facilitate illegal immigration. See the story at:

http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2007/cbarchive_20070413.html

Am I happy that President Bush has at least commuted the sentences of Ramos
and Compean? Of course I am. I am happy for the two agents; I am happy for
their families. They deserve to be together. I pray it will not take months
to release them. And I also pray that both of these gentlemen will find
gainful employment sufficient to adequately meet the needs of their wives
and children.

It is shameful that the country agents Ramos and Compean were so proud and
diligent to serve treated them (and their families) so disgracefully.
Furthermore, it is totally disgusting to realize that the Bush
administration treated a serial drug-smuggling illegal alien better than two
Border Patrol agents who were simply trying to enforce our country’s
immigration laws. Bush’s commutation of sentence does nothing to erase that
humiliation.

Christians Use Prophecy To Excuse Laziness by Chuck Baldwin

Posted by soldierservant on May 21, 2009

Even Chuck is saying that it may be another hundred years or more before
Christ’s return. Christ said that the end would come when every creature
has heard the gospel, so these others have it backwards as usual. Evil
will not hasten Christ’s return, only preaching his truth will. Those
who think that evil speeds forth his coming prove their ignorance of his
word as well as their own evil hearts. If God judges us all by the good
or evil we do then you know those who promote evil falsely will have to
answer for it. Jesus said no good can come from evil. Who are these
wicked hypocrites to contradict Jesus and call him a liar? Such fools
will surely burn for that. Just by their ignorance we know who the
wicked hypocrites are and Jesus tells exactly where they will end up for
eternity (Matt.24:51). There are hardly any true christians in America
anymore, at least not any rich christians. All these prosperity teachers
are nothing but religious devils and modern day Pharisees. I hear from
Mike Evans about how he sees so many poor and suffering jews in Israel.
How can this be when Pat Robertson and other rich preachers are supposed
to be members? These religious vipers are flaunting their riches while
they do nothing to help God’s chosen people. These rich religious
leaders are the goats mentioned in Matthew 25. These rich devils will
get exactly what is coming to them. Those who give to these devils know
better. Nobody has prospered by giving to them and you would think even
the dumbest moron would catch onto that. Evil makes people stupid. Just
look at any of these dumb criminal specials on TV and you will know what
I mean. Religious criminals are the worst kind and they continue to prey
on weak minds and literally get away with it. These evil religious
imposters keep on increasing their wealth while everyone is suffering
around them, and then these wicked bastards have the nerve to blame the
poor. God will have no mercy on these merciless vipers! These religious
vipers are not light to this world but instead a darkness to this world
that puts the evil of the heathen to shame. It is these liars that keep
the lost from ever knowing the truth just like Jesus said of the
Pharisees who shut up the kingdom from all. They bring the way of truth
into disrepute (2Peter 2:2) and you know they will pay for that. Why
would anyone in their right mind follow these losers knowing how the
bible fortells their doom? Anyone with common sense can figure out that
they will end up in the same place. Jesus taught both compassion as well
as vigilance, which these hypocrites have neither. Jesus gave stern
warnings in his parables against laziness and unvigilance, such as the
parable of the foolish virgins. He spelled it out plain and clear that
those who are not diligent will not enter his kingdom.

In response to my two previous columns regarding the current development of
a devilish New World Order, many professing Christians wrote me with
comments to the effect that we should not be concerned about whatever global
tyranny may be developing, because "it’s all a part of God’s plan," or
"Jesus is coming soon," and similar statements.  I, too, believe in the
imminent return of Jesus Christ to earth. But, then again, so did Christians
from every generation over the last two millennia. In fact, the Apostle Paul
was looking for the return of Christ while he lived (Philippians 3:20). But
does anticipation of Christ’s Second Coming excuse personal neglect,
indifference, and downright laziness? Of course not.

Had pastors and Christians of colonial America believed and acted as most
Christians believe and act today, this country would still be a Crown colony
and we would never have known the freedoms and liberties that our forebears
bequeathed to us. Christians of that era, however, believed that it was
their duty and obligation to fight for right and do everything within their
power to resist tyranny. They also believed that God would honor and bless
their efforts, which He certainly did!

It is extremely difficult for me to reconcile the apathy and slave-like
mentality that seems to permeate modern Christendom (in America) with both
our own heritage and the very Word of God. For example, the Apostle Paul is
very clear when he writes that a Christian must never "do evil, that good
may come" (Romans 3:8). Yet, that is exactly what many, if not most,
Christians are doing today.

When confronted with an obvious evil (a burgeoning tyrannical New World
Order, not to mention a number of lesser evils), modern Christians will
shrug and glibly say, "It’s God’s will; we must not oppose it," or words to
that effect. This attitude says, "I will tolerate or even condone evil in
order to hasten Christ’s return."

In the first place, no one knows when Christ will return, no matter how many
books or tapes they have produced to say they do. In Acts chapter 1, Jesus
was asked by His disciples if He would, at that time, set up His kingdom.
The first words out of His mouth were, "It is not for you to know." Oh, we
can speculate, surmise, and make educated guesses, but that’s the best we
can do. It’s time we were honest enough to admit it: only God knows when
Christ will return.  In fact, Jesus said, "But of that day and hour knoweth
no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only" (Matthew 24:36).

In the meantime, millions of Christians across America are trying to play
God. They talk as if they know when Christ will come. It’s actually worse
than that. They have the attitude that they have no personal responsibility
to defend freedom and resist despotism. They seem to look at God as some
kind of glorified fireman, who is obligated to rush in at the last minute to
rescue them from a burning fire–a fire that they helped ignite, or at
least, refused to put out themselves when they had the opportunity to do so.
It’s the old, "God would not let that happen in America" syndrome.

How arrogant can we be? Ask believers from despotic regimes around the world
what they think about God letting tribulation come, and they will quickly
tell you, "We are already in tribulation." Are Christians in the United
States really that arrogant as to believe that God loves them more than He
loves believers in other countries? If not, can we not see that if believers
around the world have suffered (and still suffer) the heavy hand of tyranny
and oppression, it is certainly possible for tyranny and oppression to come
to our land? The fact is, the only reason that Christians in America have
not (for the most part) suffered tyranny and oppression is because of the
hard work and sacrifice of our forefathers. We are simply enjoying the fruit
of their labor.

In the second place, how do we know what God would do, if we only had the
backbone to do our duty? How do we know that God would not give America "a
new birth of freedom" for our children and grandchildren, if we only had the
courage and fortitude to oppose the evil being thrust upon us by these
would-be tyrants? America is only the "land of the free," because it was the
"home of the brave." Take away the latter and we lose the former. And that
is exactly what is currently happening.

In the third place, Christians have a moral imperative to resist evil, even
if their efforts are fruitless. We are not responsible for outcome, only
effort. Believers throughout history acted on principle, leaving the results
with God. (Read Hebrews chapter 11.) Some were delivered; some were not.
That did not matter. What mattered was doing one’s duty. We Christians are
to give our bodies as "a living sacrifice" (Romans 12:1). It is God’s
prerogative to use our sacrifice as He sees fit. Therefore, there is no such
thing as a "losing effort," when it comes to doing right. Doing right
(resisting evil) is its own reward. The three Hebrew children were not
commended because God delivered them from the burning fiery furnace; they
were commended because they were willing to go into the burning fiery
furnace. So must we be.

I believe the real reason why so many professing Christians are so apathetic
and indifferent to what is happening has nothing to do with the teachings of
Scripture, Bible doctrine, eschatology, or anything of the like. It has
everything to do with old-fashioned laziness. Today’s average Christian just
flat does not want to be bothered. He has a comfortable house, an easy
chair, television, and a set of golf clubs in the closet. He takes two or
three weeks’ vacation every year, goes to church on Sunday (a church that
does not intrude on his comfort zone, of course), pays taxes, and votes for
his favorite "pro-life" Republican candidate every two years, and assumes
that he is a "good" Christian and "patriotic" American. He is neither!

A real Christian patriot would never allow his country to be taken over by a
gaggle of elitist goons bent on stealing his liberties–including his
religious liberties–without doing everything in his power to prevent it. A
real Christian patriot is active, alert, engaged, zealous, and committed to
preserving liberty.

What if Jesus doesn’t come for another 100 years? Another 200 years? What
are we going to say to our grandchildren when they ask us what we were doing
when our freedoms and liberties were being stolen? What will we say to our
Christian forebears when we meet them in eternity? They sacrificed
everything so that we could live in peace and freedom. What will we say to
them? What will we say to God, who handed this land of liberty to us on a
silver (albeit blood-soaked) platter?

Tell me again that "there is nothing we can do about it," or "it’s God’s
will," or "Jesus is coming soon." Better yet, tell it again to the suffering
Christians around the world; tell it again to our Christian forebears; tell
it again to your children and grandchildren who are going to inherit a land
of tyranny and oppression, all because you were too lazy to resist.

I know unbelievers who have more character and determination about
preserving liberty than many who call themselves Christians. And I have a
ton more respect for them, too. Our Lord told us, "For unto whomsoever much
is given, of him shall be much required" (Luke 12:48). Yes, Christians in
America have been given the best of both worlds, and many do not even
appreciate it enough to see to it that their own children–their own flesh
and blood–will live to enjoy the same blessings. They are pathetic!

So, the next time you hear some piety-draped Christian talking about how he
won’t engage the enemy and fight for liberty, because of prophecy, or some
other spiritually-sounding platitude, just remember, it has nothing to do
with prophecy, or anything of the sort: it has everything to do with
old-fashioned laziness. My feeling toward him is the same as that of Sam
Adams (a fellow Christian) toward the Tories of old: "If ye love wealth
better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest
for freedom–go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms.
Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly
upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!" Amen!
